Summary

Position will take direction from the Recruiting Manager and develop full-cycle recruiting strategies in support of organizational objectives. Assist with the day-to-day recruiting activities associated with the sourcing, coordinating, screening, qualifying, interviewing, handling offers, and hiring of candidates for all MKD/WESA open positions to execute and deliver suitable candidates toward meeting those goals. Assist with all recruiting related processes that will take new hires up to their first day and ensure a smooth transition into HR related onboarding.

Responsible for assisting with internal and external relationships tied to MKD recruiting efforts. Reports to and will get strategic direction from the Recruiting Manager. Will work with a Recruiting Coordinator in associated support activities such as organizing resumes, making calls, setting up interviews, performing associated data entry and recordkeeping work, pre-qualification activities, preparing offer letters, setting up testing and screenings, tracking candidate status, referrals, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Work with MKD recruiting Manager and team to stay abreast of organizational hiring needs.

  • Actively source and recruit candidates through the appropriate methods – advertising, recruiters, job sites, career fairs, professional networks, social media, referrals, etc.

  • Assist with MKD’s internal referral program – with tenured and new team members.

  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with professional, industry and social networks to source qualified candidates.

  • Take active role in college relations efforts.

  • Assist with all external recruiter relationships – both for RFT and temporary placements.

  • Assist with the role in MKD’s annual apprenticeship recruiting process.

  • Review and analyze resumes and qualifications to determine suitability.

  • Actively pre-screen candidates.

  • Schedule and coordinate interviews cooperatively with hiring managers, and participate as necessary and/or where can add value.

  • Inform all candidates about MKD and the open position. Sell MKD features, advantages and benefits to candidate throughout the process as may be appropriate.

  • Take lead role in evaluating candidates against MKD cultural demands and expectations.

  • Brief and debrief candidates before and after interviews.

  • Conduct and verify references.

  • Conduct and/or oversee pre-employment testing – technical and non-technical.

  • Serve as the primary point person in the communications with candidates.

  • Provide regular updates and feedback to Director of recruiting.

  • Extend offers of employment within company timing and compensation parameters. Will work with Director on any negotiation processes.

  • Utilize the Applicant Tracking System(ATS).

  • Draft and/or oversee preparation of rejection letters and correspondence.

    Qualifications

  • 3+ years of recruiting experience - ideally with an (electrical) contractor, or some prior experience within the contracting industry.

  • Knowledge of general recruiting principles, sourcing solutions, staffing systems and tools, and applicant databases and tracking systems.

  • Record of recruiting success
