Prepare, package and inspect product produced in an Injection Molding Machine. Ensure that the product meets quality specifications and is done in a safe and efficient manner.
What Machine Operation contributes to Cardinal Health
Sets up and operates a variety of machine tools to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exacting tolerances and dimensions.
- Interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications
- determines sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup
- uses a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments
- makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds
- measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining
- fits and assembles precision parts into mechanical equipment and determines material, parts, and equipment required. Some machines may be numerically controlled. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Typically requires completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1-3 years related work experience and/or training required

- Basic math and computer skills needed to read, understand, and follow the approved process sheets, visual procedures, operating procedures and complete documentation.
- Follow the principles of cGMP and 7S, use and interpret gauges and measuring and inspection devices, maintain and account for tools and equipment, pack, label, and palletize product correctly according to the Process Sheets, support and sustain QIP initiatives, conduct and document inspections, operate a pallet jack and monitor molding, assembly, printing, packing and feeder equipment, clearing jams, starting and stopping equipment following procedures and replenishing components such as corrugate, ribbons and rubber tips.
- Ability to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment, which includes: lift up to 45lbs with repetitive movements, including pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying at chest and shoulder level, and bending, twisting, crouching. Except for breaks and lunches, standing or walking for up to 12 hours.
- This position will work on the manufacturing floor, in a clean room environment. When entering the manufacturing facility, safety glasses, hearing protection, hair and beard net, gown and safety shoes are required.
